Lilly (Brings Me Great) Joy

Just thought I would share a story that gives you an idea of why Lilly is named Lilly Joy (meaning: pure joy) or as my mom calls her Lilly-Brings-Me-Great-Joy.
Over the weekend we went to visit my Aunt Kathy at the hospital in Modesto. By the way Aunt Kathy is doing very well, talking, laughing and little by little moving her arms and legs more and more each day. Each day God is allowing us to witness a miracle as she is recovering from her accident.
Anyway, as we were at the hospital and visiting my aunt who enjoyed getting to see Lilly, Jamey took Lilly out of the room since there were so many buttons and things to get into. As I walked down the Neurology hallway later I could see Lilly saying "hi" to the people who were sitting in chairs in the waiting area. Since she and Jamey were sitting in front of the elevator, Jamey said she would greet each person who came out of the elevator and then look inside the doors and say "hi" to anyone still inside. The people who were seated in the chairs were thoroughly entertained by her as she checked out what they had in their coffee cups and tried to share her water. When I saw them they had great big smiles on their faces as did the people getting off the elevators. Of course she had to say hi to the nurses and doctors as well as. One lucky doctor even got a kiss blown his way.

I'm always a little reluctant to take Lilly to places like hospitals, but maybe we need a few more toddlers running around allowing people to leave their worries for a few minutes and just experience great joy!

What a sweetie pie! She has inherited her friendly disposition and cheery attitude from her parents, no doubt. So sweet! They should have toddler-aged candy stripers.
